About Me

Welcome! I'm Kris, a proud wife and a mother of two amazing kids plus our sweet dog, Fenway, and cats, Juji Catame and Green Monstah. Our family is my greatest joy, and we cherish our time together exploring local Virginia, playing board games, cheering at baseball games, and enjoying the little moments.

During the day, I am a full-time Prosthetist Orthotist and clinic manager, dedicated to helping others improve their quality of life. My work is incredibly rewarding, and I bring the same care and attention to detail to my photography.

Why Mats and Bats? Jiu Jitsu and baseball are a big part of my life- I met my husband because of our mutual love of the Red Sox and baseball, and after getting my health on track I started to train and compete in jiu jitsu. Photography has always intrigued me, but it truly blossomed when I started capturing my sons' sports activities- my eldest son plays baseball (the bats), and my youngest jiu jitsu (the mats). Through the lens, I've found a way to preserve those precious memories and share our stories. My passion for photography continues to grow, and I love finding beauty in everyday moments.
